Building More Than Fences: SHLY Deck & Fence Supports the "Feed the Need" Radiothon
At SHLY Deck & Fence, our business is built on the idea of "home." We spend our days helping families in Western Pennsylvania create safe, beautiful spaces where they can gather, grill, and grow. But we know that for many of our neighbors, the most important part of the home, the kitchen table, isn't always full.
That's why we were incredibly proud to participate in the 7th Annual Giant Eagle Feed the Need Radiothon this past March 24th.
A Community Coming Together
For those who missed the broadcast, all five Audacy Pittsburgh radio stations went live for a full day of storytelling and community action. It was a powerful reminder of what our region can do when we pull together. From hearing moving stories of local families to listening to interviews with athletes and community leaders, the energy was infectious.
Since its launch in 2020, this event has helped provide millions of meals to families across our region. At SHLY Deck & Fence, we believe in supporting the foundation of our community, and there is no firmer foundation than ensuring no one goes hungry.
The Impact: Counting in Meals
One of the reasons we love partnering with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is its incredible efficiency. We don't just count dollars; we count the lives touched.
Did you know? For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide up to 3 meals.
To put that into perspective, our goal this year was to make a significant dent in food insecurity. We were honored to commit to a match that helped provide 30,000 meals to our neighbors. That's 30,000 instances of a child going to school with a full stomach or a senior not having to choose between medicine and groceries.
Our Commitment to Caring for Others
Even though the 2026 Radiothon has concluded, the mission continues. We pride ourselves on being more than just a local contractor; we are your neighbors. Giving back is woven into the fabric of what we do. Whether we are installing a custom cedar fence or supporting local food security, we are committed to making Pittsburgh a stronger, better place for everyone.
